What should i buy??
I'm interested in buying either a 92-95 civic or hatchback and looking to spend about $4000. Now in order to do this i would have to take out a loan but instead of a loan for only $4000 i was going to take out a loan for $8000. My question is what kind of car would you guy's recommend and with the extra money what would you recommend that i spend it on....motor swap...if so what kind of motor b/c i plan on turboing it later on

Although sacrificing some comfort like, a/c, p/s, etc. which i dont like b/c i dont have anyway, i would say get a:
- 92+ CX HB b/c it weighs 2094 w/o driver in stock form
- Get some Del Sol or GSR seats
- Good Suspension like Tein or A'PEXi
- GSR Turbo
- Some nice Falken Azenis or DragRadials
EDIT: - Or some DragRadials*
Dont know what else, right now

Azenis are not drag radials.
And a bank will usually not loan more money than the car is worth.

If your Credit is good, and you dont have high monthly bills (rent/appliances).
BUT>>>
You will need to take out a Unsecured Loan. Chances are, they will not loan you money for a 92-95 car, I just try to re-finance what I had left on a 95EX and they would not do it because of the year....
If I was you, i would just ask for an 8k Unsecured load... period, dont even tell them its for a car.

No, they will not. A bank will give you up to NADA high book, however you could look out taking a personal loan if your income/bills ratio is good enough.

As others have said, no they will not give you a car loan for more than a car is worth. You may find it difficult to even get a loan for a car that old (roughly 10yrs).
Personally, I wouldn't advise borrowing money for a swap.

Yeah an unsecured loan is the way to go, I told the bank I was putting a roof on my grandmothers house and I got a loan for 10k.
