Default What sensor is this?

So last night I removed my sohc motor from my 98 ex coupe and was moving all the parts and stuff over to the b20. There was a sensor on the topside of the transmission that fits into a threaded hole. You can see the bottom of the hole so it doesnt reach the interior of the transmission. The sensor from the y8 tranny won't fit on the ls transmission on the b20 because the size of the threading is different. I'm guessing that the sensor is some kind of temperature sensor but I could be wrong, so thats what my question is. Also, can I drive the motor without this sensor until I can hunt one down? Apparently find a mostly intact 94+ integra in Jacksonville FL in a junkyard is near impossible.

*Edit: Heres the picture of it:

That is a back-up light switch..
Speed sensors have 2 lines running to them form the power steering.
Just confirmed it is a Back up light switch.

Look in the phone book and check out ACE Pick-a-Part off Heckshire Drive and Main St. They probably have it, if not post in the post in the Florida section or go out during the weekend and ask around, you'd probably get it sooner than you think.

Yea, I already went to ace. they had one gen 3 teg, and it was ripped to shreds. Since my car can run without it, I'm just going to wait until I can get ahold of one. I think for new it'll probably run me about $30 so its no big deal. Thanks for the help guys.
