What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
Hey, new here.
I just bought a 98' bare civic, I'm 6'4'' so the stock seats put me a little too close to the ceiling, and they provide no support. I was looking at integra seats, wanted to check with you guys/gals as to what I can fit in there with minimal/no modification. I was thinking of swapping my rails with the integra seat. Thanks! |
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
I know the faq includes a few, but they don't say if it's a lower or a higher riding height

Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
im 6-2 and have delsol seats in my 98. they sit really low and give my head plenty of room.
|
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
gsr seats
|
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
Im 6' 4 and i have Si seats in my EJ. I sit 1 click up from back when im cruisin and two clicks from back when im gettin into it....ive never had a problem with head clearance
|
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
when i say from back i mean slid all the way back (the whole seat) then one click forward or two clicks, im not talking about the back of the seat angle...just for clarification :P

Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
When you lean forwards, does your head hit the ceiling/shades? Because that's what's going to happen in an accident to me if I get into one.
When swapped with civic rails, are gsr seats still low? Or do I have to mod the rails or drill the car to install them? |
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
del Sol seats are probably your best bet. S2000 seats sit low too, but are more expensive and more difficult to install (seat pan swap).
|
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
s200 seats if you got money but if on a budget del sol seats do not get 99-00 si seats very uncomfortable
|
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
Does any one know what's some good LIGHT OEM OR AFTERMARKET SEATS for the same car?
Is the del sol seats lighter than the regular CX hatch seats? |

I have these in my 96 hatch. They are WAY better than the original ones. They sit lower, hug you more and are so much more comforatble! http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y28...etzMarch08.jpg |

Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
wait, gsr seats, when swapped into civic rails, are lower? I thought they sat higher on civic rails. GSR seats are much easier to find, so I would appreciate the help
|
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
I have 2000 GSR seats in my 96 EK with the stock civic rails and they sit quite a bit lower than my womans stock 98 civic Ex seats
|
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
sweet, I should look into them. Would anyone know about gsr seats being consistent across 92-00?

Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
I have leather seats from an acura 1.6 el in my 98 civic SI and I could put the seat higher or lower back and front, if you get what I mean only the ass cushion goes up or down, and they were bolt on the front ones, back ones are kinda diffrent, mods needed

Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
Did you do a straight bolt in without the rails or did you swap rails for that?
|
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
just buy some del sol seats the sit much lower than GSR seats
|
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
GSR seats ftmfw.
got them in my sleeper. ;) ;) |
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
del sol seats with civic rails is the best OEM combo IMO. i'm bout 6' and with my del sol seats i only sit 3 clicks back from upright. with my gsr's (w/ gsr rails) i had to lean back considerably just to be comfortable.
gsr seats with civic rails is significantly lower than gsr seat w/ gsr rails. |

Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
I have S2000 seats for sale.
http://www.hondamarketplace.com/show....php?t=2509727 Ignore the price if you want, just make me an offer. GSR seats suck, IMO. I had a GSR with leather and hated it. The leather is really crappy and very slippery with almost no bolstering. Instead of sitting in cloth park benches like the civic, you sit in slippery leather park benches. Weak. |

I have LS seats in mine. They sit about 1" lower than my DX seats and they are more comfy too since they hug you more. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...0/DSC01240.jpg |
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
1" is not quite enough for me, I rally want to sit upright, so I guess I should keep hunting del sols
|
Re: What seats to put in 98' civic (need lower seats)?
Or buy my S2000 seats. Much nicer.
