It's about that time for me to get new rotors and pads. What's everyone using what does everyone suggest?

Brembo stock replacement rotors (no slots or holes, USELESS crap if you ask me)
Hawk HP pads
There are a billion threads about brakes, do some research and pick what you think is best. Brakes are somewhat of a trial and error thing. You'll find what you like eventually.

x2... Or Brembo blanks paired with PBR/Axiis pads. Both work well

I had heard that Hawk pads were really loud? Is that just the ceramic pads? Or did someone just not know what they were talking about?

Interesting!
I'm using stock rotors and Hawk pads...
I run Hawk HPS pads - the 'softest' pads that Hawk makes - not noisy like the track version[s].
Pretty gnarly looking, yes?
I get these pads at Pep Boys, of all places. Used to be like $50, but I think I paid over $60 last time - whatever - they're worth it!
Um...
BTW, everything that they claim over here is true, except...
They are NOT "low dust" IMHO!
These things are 'killer' but they turn your rims and tires 'rust red' with dust!!!

Yeah, that's another thing I was putting into consideration, how much brake dust is created. How are the PBR Ceramics with brake dust?

Re: (D16SohcVtec)
So it looks like most people are using either Brembo blanks and pbr or hawk pads..I guess I'll just try one of each?

Let me be crystal about this...
Hawk HPS pads are NOT excessively dusty nor 'low dust', IMHO!
I would consider OEM/replacement pads to be 'low dust', but not Hawk HPS pads - that's all...
I drive 500-600 miles a week. This is a BIG factor!
I digress...
My 2000 EJ7 had 78% more mileage than average, according to insurance company stats, when it was totaled by a drunk driver.
I didn't believe them and called the Honda dealer where I bought it. The sales manager was shocked I put 180K miles on a 2000 HX - and said the insurance company was cutting me a great deal. He said there's no way they would have offered me that much money on a trade-in, even in perfect mint condition!
Anyway...
If you drive YOUR car a normal amount of miles, and wash it every week or two, you'll probably never even see the brake dust! So...
In that respect, maybe they ARE 'low dust' - just not 'low dust' for me...
I am in NO WAY knocking Hawk HPS pads - they're amazing really!

I've seen EBC apps and Hawk apps, I just like my EBC pads more. They're quieter than my buddys hawk pads, with less dust, and they're pretty colors
You should look into EBC, they make good stuff, and they're decently priced. You can get the black OE replacements, Green sport pads, Red Agressive sport pads, Yellow Track/Street pads, or the blue endurance racing pads (but only if your car isn't daily driven, of course).

Re: What rotors and brake pad setup is everyone using? (96civic_hb)
Stay away from zinc plated, they ferked up my new EBC pads big time.
There's a reason EBC rotors have slots all the way to the outer edge.
My Brembo ones stopped right where they got ferked up.
Of course, Brembo blames EBC and EBC blames Brembo and neither of em wanted to help one bit. last time I'll bne using zinc plated ****.
BTW, this after only 5 miles of carefull smooth soft braking as recomended by Brembo/EBC
