Default What is this piece called?

Hey guys I bought a GSR tranny but it was missing a part that is pretty vital. You know that thing that the clutch slave cylinder sits in? It doesn't have that. I wanted to know the name of the piece as well as the little bearing thingy that seems to be over it. Does anyone have a diagram that shows the assembly of it or is it pretty easy?

here is apic

Is it going to cost me a lot to find one? What are all the parts that I need to get it all assembled the right way and is the process of putting it on difficult?

dude its just ur transmission,
with a throwout bearing on it(or a release bearing)

aside from that bearing u'd have to dissasemble ur tranny to replace that probe sticking out of it..

the bearings are around 30bux or 50 from honda..

how about you explain WHAT your problem is?

read the original post and you'll find out. that is not my transmission it is an example to show you the pieces that iam talking about.

The probe thingy is already sticking out of the tranny on the inner portion of the gearcase. The part i am missing is the metal piece that comes out of the gearcase and has the little indent for the clutch slave cylinder to rest in. So you're saying I have to take apart the entire tranny just to get this part on?

I'm still lost? The ring around the drive shaft is called the 'throwout bearing'. The peice is very easy to replace.

it's a clutch fork and throw-out bearing, no you don't have to take it apart to replace it, it simply clicks on with a little metal clip/spring deally....once you see it, you'll understand, install the clip onto the fork and slide it into place....pretty easy, pretty cheap.

I would say yes you have to take tranny off to get the clutch fork in.

You have to line the throwout bearing on the clutch fork and it would be tough to do that when you can't put your hands around the bearing.

if the tranny is already off you shoudl be able to just slide it on

its called a clutch release fork. if you say shift fork there is also another part inside the tranny called the shift fork so beware

I highly doubt his tranny is on the car if it's missing a clutch fork.

The fork is cheap got it from one of the online acura dealerships for like $10 bucks and also make sure you buy the spring that goes behind it #4 in the diagram. I think the bearing I got from Orileys for like another 30 or something. Get a new bearing.
