What parts to replace when changing a clutch?
I want to do this once and be done with this car for all eternity. I was reading some DIY's on clutches and I was hoping that someone else might be able to tell me if there's anything else i need or that I'm missing. I got this list from
http://www.team-integra.net/se...D=957
Pressure plate
Clutch Disc
Flywheel
Release bearing
Flywheel bearing
1 Spindle Nut
Transmission seals (optional)
Exhaust gaskets (optional)
2 Cotter Pins (optional)

I'm not changing the flywheel because more than likely this will be going to my mom as a DD and her main focus is MPG. That and I'm not trying to spend anymore money than i have to.
I DO plan on resurfacing the flywheel....if anyone knows a good shop in Sacramento.

when doing a clutch all you need to replace is the clutch and pressure plate and throwout bearing. as for a shop in sac, i havent lived there since 01, so i dont know what to tell you. if i remember, there was a clutch shop on madison ave in fair oaks.. i think it was near garfield.. just look in the yellow pages.

if you don't want to go back in there replace the rear main engine oil seal. we always put one of these is when we have a transmission off because the labor for a clutch set that costs $200-300 is the same as the labor for a $14 seal.
yeah, release bearing, and some flywheels have a pilot bearing in them, i think you had flywheel bearing listed, same thing.
so yeah...
rear main seal
clutch disc
pressure plate
pilot and release bearings
and you'll want some wheel bearing grease or high temp grease to lube trans snout (where the release bearing rides) lightly on the shaft splines and on the fork contact points.
oh, and we just resurface with 2in abrasive discs on a die grinder. this is how my boss and coworker do things and they have 40 years experience combined at honda dealerships.
