What part of the headlight is this?

What part of the headlight is this?
Its on a del sol headlight. Im painting the housing black and am not sure if shoud paint this black as well.

it looks like the part that shields the bulb so that it will reflect off the "back wall" of the haedlight and project light forward... I wouldnt paint it... JMO
SEE the lil NUB right in the center, i think thats it.... just paint them like these...

dont paint it EK type R headlights don't even have them in there but they will help you see so keep them in. i painted my first housings on my civic and it made them dimmer keeping those off.
