Default What is Paint "Flash"?

Im Getting my car painted, and it was supposed to be done today, but they called and said that the paint flashed and that they had to repaint it and now its gonna be done monday. Any idea what the hell this means?

"flash" refers to the time paint has to dry inbetween coats. different paints have different dry times. so either some areas were dry and other parts werent and it was sprayed causing a drip or smear. dont be afraid to ask them questions especially if your paying for it...

this information can be found on the internet aswell.

yea sounds like they effed up on the first job and are now fixing it. Flash time is just a different way of saying dry time.

the reason i didnt ask was because i was asleep . My brother picked up the phone and relayed the message to me. thanks for the info Maaco, is still ok in my book, 900 for theyre best paint is a pretty damn good deal I love 30 year anniversaries

oh it's a maaco job? thats really nice they are fixing it now instead of waiting for you to bring it back though.

paint flash usually means the dry times inbetween coats while painting.

sounds to me like they were just throwing you some technical terms to give you an excuse. they probably got some big runs or had other major problems.

"Best paint" is still pretty crappy at Maaco.
