What options do I have for brake upgrades for my EH3?
Hey guys whats up!
Okay so here is my dilemma:
The car is a 92 Civic Si.My rear calipers are seizing and the piston won't go back in and the fronts are the same I bet because I have to put good force to spin the wheels when its up on jacks. So pretty much I'm driving around with the car braking a little bit
I'm running out of pad on the right rear which mind you I just replaced 3 months ago and it was a pain in the butt to push the piston in but just managed to. I tried the left rear 2 months ago and I couldn't push the caliper piston back in, it wouldn't move at all. So when I run out of pad on that side, I won't be able to replace em.
So replace or upgrade? What options do I have here?
I was thinking of doing:
1) Remanufactured lifetime warranty calipers from autozone($200ish after I return my seized calipers to them) + Autozone pads + Brembo blanks for rotors.
2) Same setup but I'm under the belief that the 94-95 Si have slightly bigger rotors? Could I just order those from Autozone for a quick drop in upgrade?
3) I have also heard that 4 lug EP3 brakes will work? Any idea if thats a straight drop or even a good idea?
4) I could also upgrade to Integra brakes, would that be a good idea? I wouldn't want something used so I'm assuming I could get some from Autozone?
Thanks guys!

If you want to keep it all OEM Integra brakes are the way to go, you will need integra front knuckles, calipers, pads, 4040 proportioning valve from a '94 - '97 Integra RS non abs (you can also use one from a '90 - '93 but you will need to swap the bracket where it attaches to the firewall), '94 - '97 Integra RS non abs master cylinder + brake booster (alternatively you can use a '90 - '91 Civic EX master cylinder and keep your original brake booster. Rear brakes that are on the car are identical to an Integra so just get some remaned calipers.

How much improvement will this give me versus just getting remaned calipers all around?
Thats a lot of work to get a little improvement you know, so Im just wondering if its worth it? Do you think its worth the money? I could prob get new rotors, calipers and pads for about $400. I would be spending that much with Integra brakes plus another what $100 bucks for all that? I think it would be hard to piece that setup in the short time that I have.
Can I buy remaned Integra calipers from Autozone? That would be the best way to go right?
Thanks a lot for the reply dude! Always coming through.

Considering 99.9% of rear brake calipers are ratcheting pistons and can't be "pushed" back in like a front caliper that might be your problem.

I know theyre twisted in. I used to tool I rented from Autozone to twist em. So much force needed and I got it to work on the right rear barely. Couldn't do the left side.
But yeah I meant twisted in.

Left rear pad below, lots of pad left but it looks in awful shape, the right rear one was all metal.

Yeah, that caliper looks like it's seen better days. You can buy a rebuild kit for them as opposed to buying a whole new caliper but I'm not sure on the price difference as I don't live in America.

The plan originally was to go to Autozone and buy 4 new calipers. 1 for the rear goes for $110 bucks. Then when you return your core, they give you money back so it ends up costing like $57 bucks. The fronts come out to like $40. 2 rears and 2 fronts come out to a little over $200.

I think you're on the right track. Go with refurbed calipers, brembo blanks and new pads. As for which pads, I'm with you on something fairly inexpensive. I have a 95 Si though so I have the larger rotors.

get the re-man ones imo,As far as the integra fronts yes it is a nice up grade but if you aren't bringing it to the track or auto-xing it's probably a little overkill, just my 2 cents best of luck.

Yeah I figure thats a nice little firm setup for the street. I'd only be concerned with brake fade on the track but for $50 bucks for new pads all around its not too bad. Project Mu B force brake pads are good but they don't have them for us. Though I believe I can use Integra ones...
Anyways, so the 94-95 do have larger rotors huh? If I ordered them do you think it would be a straight up fit? I think it should.

I'm thinking it's more than that. You need the bracket for the caliper to be able to reach further to clear the rotor. I'd think you'd need new knuckles for that (like the integra upgrade).

Remanufactured calipers should do the trick and I would need new rotors anyways. My rotors are drilled and I'm not fond of that idea. I feel that it eats the pads like graded cheese. The holes are full of dust.

Oh alright then. I'll just stick to stock. They can't be that much bigger anyways.
