What not to do in a civic?jdm ride.
Im planning to write an article about things you should not mod. in ur civics. lately ive been seeing civics with chrome rims and towering spoilers on an Eg sedan. In keeping faith to the jdm, i was thinking to start a topic on what you should never mod. on ur civics. in keeping with the tradition of JDM. Suggestions any1?

hmmm, jdm things not to do....
- rhd power window switches in a lhd car
- huge wings
- decals plastered all over the glass and body panels
- paint the car another color, and leave original color stick out like a sore thumb inside the door jams and under the hood

IMO, there's no reason for such a thread. Most people on this site don't do that kind of stuff to their cars. IMHO, the whole JDM fad thing is just as bad as the "riced" look that you are talking about. It's all just a matter of opinion. But this type of thing might be better for a local forum instead.

There was an old website (5 years ago) that made fun of people who rice out their cars. I'm going to search for it.
Here it is.

let people do what they feel like doing. its not your car. stop trying to tell people what to do. if anything tell them to stop wearing tight pants.

who cares what you or the majority of people think look nice. ricers like there cars im sure, but i learned from a young age rice and flare are not my style. for some people it is, i just laugh, but no need for an article.

Re: What not to do in a civic?jdm ride.
To each his own. We'd all miss "ricers" if they just disappeared. If that kid with the 8 foot aluminum wing wouldn't fly by me in 3rd gear while I'm accelerating from a dead stop, who would make me smile and shake my head? They have their place. Haha.
In my opinion, its about where u put ur money. Like its been said before function over fashion. I don't like stickers and I don't like bodykits. If u get wheels, please address your massive wheel gap. At the same time I don't care if ur car has every spoon part ever made on it either. If ur putting something on ur car just to say you have it, I believe the pont is being lost. Keep it original. Spend money makin a car that moves rather than spending money making one that looks like it does.

read my sig...
jdm needs to die. its like the civics in japan is the best we've ever got.
i'm waiting for something aftermarket that will revolutionize the trend world and not be "rice"
EDIT: to clear up a stupid idea. MUGEN lips and parts ARE NOT JDM, they are aftermarket

Meaning that according to him there are better cars out there. I like Evo's. But cant afford them. The next best modful car is unfortunately for some a civic. But thats just great on my watch.

Re: What not to do in a civic?jdm ride.
if you think about it.
jdm civics have features that other markets do not (side marker lights, amber corners, slim door moldings, etc)
people tend to have the idea that, because the JDM civics have these features, does not make JDM better than USDM or EDM, its just a stupid trend.
it sounds like im talking out my *** but it just makes my stomach hurt when people buy into the JDM craze because its a trend
thats a great idea but not exactly what i meant.
EX: people pay OUT THE *** $$$ for a eg sir ii cluster just because its jdm
