you need a y8 auto intake manifold to not throw any codes or change anything. runnign a y8 ecu on ur y7 im sure is already throwing a CEL as the y7 does not have a knock sensor, vtec or a 2 wire iacv

Ok here's the deal. If you keep the Y8 ECU you'll have to use the Y8's two wire IACV, the 3 wire isn't compatible with Y8 ECU. But if you go this route you'll always have a check engine light for VTEC and knock sensor. Your best bet in this case is to find a Y8 head a d do a minime swap. Or.....
If you want to keep the Y7 you'll need to get a Y7 ECU and run a 3 wire IACV either by swapping on the Y7 throttle body and wire up the 3 wire IACV and blocking off the IACV ports in the back of the y8 intake manifold or just get a complete Y7 intake manifold with throttle body.

if its a ex it should have a ex harness, and the manifold or any of that should matter. the only difference would be the block, and as long as they installed a knock sensor, and everything else, you should be fine. I would pull code, and see what it says. But if its a ex car, with a ex head, dx harness and block. I hope you knew that when you bought it. It can be made to work, but the easiest soultion for you if you are unsure on wiring is to get a ex harness. Then you will have the plug for power steering or ac if you ever decide to put that in the car.

If it has the ex harness, then you need to jump the code and see what its throwing. do yourself a favor and put a vtec head on it, then you will just need to add a knock sensor and you will be good.

I agree if you can afford it. If you go with the Y7 ECU you won't need a knock sensor but youw will need the 3 wire IACV as its a must.
