What motor oil you use?
I've been using normal 10W-30. I've heard from many mechanics that 10W-30 Full Synthetic is a way to go because it is much cooler and does not get black easily, and it is better in the long run. I'm thinking of changing my oil to "full synthethic" soon.
*I cannot switch back to normal oil once I got synthetic...or so i've heard.
What kind of oil do you use for your Honda? What would you recommend?

Do a search for oil. There's a huge thread about it. Very good info in that. Lots of reading, but you'll know more about oil than you ever wanted to
In my opinion, the only thing synthetic has going for it is that it lasts longer than dino, and can stand more heat, without breaking down. That's a pretty moot point though, as to my knowledge, there are no oil filters that I would trust longer than 3000-4000 miles.
I use 5W30 Valvoline, and change it every 3000 miles. If I had more money, I'd use Redline.
The filter matters more than the oil.

Redline and amsoil both OWN mobil 1...
Mobil 1 used to be good as hell but they reformulated it because it didn't break down like most oils did so engines would end up with LOTS of stuff that ends up sticking to about everything in the engine.... now it brakes down too fast...

J/K: Mobil 1 5/30.. Im the 2nd owner on my civic. Original owner used mobil since 3k miles. 133,000 miles later, the valves look brand new minimal wear. Ill stick to spoiling the D-16Y7 to Mobil 1.

my friend used regular conventional oil and at 250,000+ miles he got the same
results as your synthetic oil.

I use 5W-30 Castrol GTX with 3k changes. The guys at http://www.bobistheoilguy.com endorse it as one of the best conventional oils.

royal purple...cause i'm cool
and oil doesn't break down. it's the detergents in the oil. and with todays oils, you can SAFLEY go over 9k miles with out an oil change. The SAE (haha, i'll be part of it soon suckasssssssssss) suggest you stop wasting your money with these 3k mile oil changes. There is no point anymore. Yeah, when you parents had to change oil...they had too cause their oil sucked. Even the cheapst oils these days are better than ANYTHING they could have gotten. Well, as long as it's the no the recycled Quaker state stuff. that stuff is junk.
and oil filter...toyo roki insight filter works just fine for me

Re: (GSRswapandbanned)
When a 6 pack of Mobil 1 is only $23 at Costco....its cheap insurance to change it every 3k miles....and I have a turbo. Rebuilding a engine and turbo costs a lot more than oil and a filter.

Why do you like Royal Purple? Just wondering
And yes I know oil doesn't break down, I was just simplifying my post. The basic point is still there though.
I'd like to see information to back up that 9000 mile claim. Keep in mind that most of us here drive our cars hard, and I think the saying "better safe than sorry" applies.
