Default What Lip for 96 Del Sol??????

Which lip looks better on a Forest Green Del Sol?
It will not be painted just left plastic black.
A Mugen Lip or a Civic Type-R lip?
Im ready to buy one but I don't know which one looks better on a Del Sol.
Note: Either one of the lips I buy will be a replica, in other words fake.
Buying it becuase lipless Del Sol's look a little ugly in my opinion.

Example picture: Type-R Lip

Example picture: Mugen Lip

I will take down pictures upon request.

The car it will go on:

Thanks!

Not sure but he is the owner of a shop called Ak1 Motorsports, he has a Type-r Swap (B18c5) in it too.
Maybe it's a replica but it looks awesome!
I think he has a Mugen Replica wing too.
What state are you in man?

If your not going to get a full mugen bumper then i would go with the type r lip. The mugen lip looks ricey and tacked on IMHO. The type r goes with the body lines of the car more and would not stick out to much if it was not painted. The mugen would look strange not painted.

I had the same question for my sol cause i want to get a lip too. After looking at both those pics i know what i am getting now. Type r lip FTW.

Yup! Your right! Thank you for making up my mind.
When you think about it the Mugen one looks chessy and similar to a Homedepot lip.
Picking up my Abs Plastic repli Type-R lip tommorrow. $40 haha Pretty good huh?
It's kinda slammed now so Ima add that lip not caring if it breaks on driveways

I have always been a big fan of the mugen lips and I heard that the lips on ebay weren't half ace bad as long as you get the poly urethane replicas

What happens if you get the Abs plastic ones?
My Buddies Ej1 has one, looks good, he just has it on with screws.
Although he isn't as Dumped as me, so id rather buy a cheap one incase of a hole on the street or something.

The ABS plastic isn't HORRIBLE (my lip is made out of it), but if you are dropped like you are, I'd get the extra insurance of the polyurethane.

Mine is still pretty high off the ground so its safe from most obstacles. I'm on my second lip as the first one go taken out by the fattest raccoon I've ever seen. Did take a few pavement hits though before that and no damage.

The thing about the lips are that they have the tendency to break with very little impact, especially for those who are ridin low.

Polyurethane is a more flexible material that could take a bit more of a beating without the worry of major cracks and damage.

If you're dropped like you say you are than you should definently not go with abs plastic, especially when you're looking at replicas because most often they are not as durable as the adds say they are

Well im tucking a lil bit of tire on 14's.
How low will the edge of the Type-R lip go from the ground installed on the bumper?

Well my bumper is about 1inch from a speed bump.
So I don't think I will be able to go through speed bumps wth a lip then huh?

Heres how it sits on a uphill street.
Ignore the fake Oem Lip, Me and my friends made that. Haha
You think I will have clearance over speedbumps with the Type-R lip? I doubt it.

Hahaha, Too bad my Cat is still gonna keep scraping.
What I hate is that my damn school parking lot speedbumps are higher then a regular one, im scared my downpipe might bend.
hahaha, Thanks, I tried on the rims. I really want some Slipstreams though.

Ima go with th plastic Type-R lip, ill post pictures hopefully this weekend. What else do you want for $40 right? haha

Yeah, the Type-R style will definitely hit anything like a speed bump. That goes for the mugen lip as well.

I would say just avoid bumps like that as much as possible but it sounds like thats pretty hard where you drive. Apparently life won't let you have everything you want.

Without a cost anyway.

Oh and I just noticed the wheels after eg grom said something. Nice look.
