What kind of oil do you run?
Just changed the oil for the first time in my 99 SI. Can't believe I already put 3000 miles on it. Just out of curiosity, what kind of oil are you all running? I tend to stick with Texaco Havoline 10w-30. And how much should a b16 take? I put in 4 quarts and seems to be the right amount on the dipstick but thinking another half a quart couldn't hurt.

3000 miles on your Si. Does that mean you didn't change your oil for 4 years? You really should change it every 6 months no matter what. But anyway I prefer Mobil 1 synthetic.

it's been proven time and time again that you "CAN" lose power using thicker oil than specified. so by using 10w-30 you maybe losing power. don't quote me on this but it's what i've seen and heard from tuners using dynos. myself i use mobile-1 full syn. 5w-30 and for tranny fluid i use mobile-1 10w-40. works great for me
i don't know about that one pal. where did you hear that? i use 10-30w mobil one synthetic oil because i live in california and since it doesn't get that cold here there is no reason for me to run 5-30w. but i may be wrong but it even says in my haynes manual that 10-30w is good through 30 degrees or something like that and it doesn't even come close to reaching that temp in southern cali

Mobil 1 synthetic 10w30. I may try 5w30 next time to see if I can tell a difference. It just gets so damn hot here I don't wanna mess with success.
