what kind of motor oil do u use?
i just want to know what you all use. Has it helped in the engine life and performance. I use valvoline maxlife cause i cant afford synthetic. For those who use synethic do u recommend it. I would use pennzoil awhile back but now adays there so many brands and types.

i currently use the "german syntec" 0w-30 in my b16a. it is difficult to find. dont let the 0w fool you. it is actually thicker than mobil 1 5w-30 at start up. the reason for the 0w is that this oil is made predominatly of esters which give it a very low pour point. on the back of the bottle it shows that it meets the requirements for BMW longlife-01, Mercedes benz 229.1 and 229.3, and is Porsche approved. can you find another over the counter 30 weight oil that meets these car manufactures requirements? to know more about this oil search "german castrol" on bobistheoilguy.com or search for "castrol SLX" on google.

Oh I use Mobil Drive Clean every 3,000 miles no Synthetic for me. The inside of my motor is clean as a whisle too, when I pulled my valve cover last time. I use to use Mobil 1 full Synthetic in my Accord and change the oil every 3,000 miles and that motor was not as clean on the inside as the civic is.

I used to use Valvoline 5w-30, because it's the same stuff that comes in those "honda genuine oils" you see at the dealership.
now i use Mobil Drive Clean.
No synthetic for me.

Castrol GTX 5w30, switching from POS Honda FRAMs to Purolator Pure One or Mobil 1. Change em every 2-3 months, more during autox season.

i used to use castrol 10w-30 in my crx along w'a mobil oil filter or a wix( pretty much the same thing) i jsut changed the oil for the 1st time in my '99 EX coupe and i used mobil 1 10w-30 synthetic and a shitty *** fram filter( fram and pennzoil filters suck ***!!!! ) and actually, the car feels pretty good. i havent hit it in vtec yet, and i just put some 93 octane in her.. she likee alot. now im gonna put some of that GM syncromesh tranny fluid into her and see how the gears like it. IMO synthic is worth the extra $2.00, i get it cheaper though from work since we buy in HUGE bulk

As often as I change my oil, I see little need in spending $18 for a 5qt jug over the $7 for regular.
