Well seeing that you are in canada it is gonna be different then what we have in the states. First none of our 92-95 honda civic hatchbacks came with a intake like that one. Looks like the old carbuerated hatchbacks in 88-91 body style. Go to http://www.carfax.com and put in the V.I.N (vehicle identification number) of your car and see what it says about it. That should help you out alot.

this car should probably be from japan!!!! (this is just a wild guess) but any wayz most of the cars here r from japan!.
well.. anything else i can help you with so you can help me identify this car? i don't have the car with me so i can't check the VIN https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif( but i'll do that tonight or tomorrow!

i belive in the middle east the vin is located on the ECU under the back seat. if not there its on the back side of the steering wheel.

Thats a old style engine and i think you're better off if you swap it out for a newer and more powerful engine. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

im just wondering what is needed to convert from carbueration to fuel injection as far as the fuel pump, and lines and all that are concerned. and all the sensors and what not.

the VIN is on the dash (near the gauge cluster hump). its a metal tag with letters and numbers engraved or on your door jamb on the white sticker. or in the engine bay behind the manifold (round airbox thing).

good luck.

I say keep it, if it really is a carbuerator. I think its just some crazy
contraption to keep the sand out. The middle east looks pretty
damn dusty every time I see it on tv. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

The car looks very well taken care of, maybe the owners manual
is in the glove box? That will tell you more about the car then
anyone. Or go to an autoparts store and see if they can help you get
the right manual for that thing. Do they even have auto parts stores?
Im such an idiot, have never even been out of the states. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

Oh, and that steering wheel came in the Japanese civic, and the canada
model also. Its just what honda made for the people who didnt want airbags. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

You could just post the first couple digits of your VIN and almost anyone on here could tell you what model you have.

do you know the original owner?

if not, someone prolly blew the motor, went cheap and swapped an old pos into it..

........just my guess

Re: What kind of honda civic is this? please help (skunk2eg)

According to the guy from that link, that motor came in the eg in other countries.

the plug wires are on the oppposite side of the valve cover, i dont think its a d14. i could be wrong though

sohcvtec1995 08-01-2004 01:33 PM

Re: What kind of honda civic is this? please help (green00EX)

the wires on the back of the valve cover usually indicate non vtec.

Re: What kind of honda civic is this? please help (green00EX)

Just look at the engine code on the engine block under the distributor... then you'll know which engine you have...

Then post that code here and everyone will be able to tell you which engine is that...

Looks to me like 1.5 liter... maybe even 1.3 liter... 1.3L engines came with that kind of airbox...

Even some D14 models had that airbox...

Who knows... check the code...

Anyway, interior looks clean...
