What kind brake pad and rotors should I buy for my 00 civic?
My car got 40000 miles. So I think I need to change brake pad and may be rotors too. So What kind brake pad and rotors should I buy for my 00 civic? Where to find them?
I use my car for daily driving only. So I don't want to spend money on performance parts.

1. Daily commuter: Autozone rotors/pads or Honda OEM rotors/pads
2. Autox/Aggressive daily commuter: Autozone/Honda/Brembo rotors and some Axxis Ultimates.
3. Road Racing: Go search the autox/rr forum!

isn't it usually just cheaper and easier in the long run to get new rotors? i heard that the practice of turning rotors is getting less common due to that fact that you can get better quality rotors and decent prices.

Re: (lj17)
I personally wouldn't resurface Honda rotors. It's one thing to resurface the rotors of a luxury car or something because they cost so much new, but as said before you can get Brembo rotors for so cheap it's just now worth it.

I would definitely fork out the $50 for the Brembo Blanks rather than getting them resurfaced.

My daily commuter:
Brembo blanks - $25/piece (ImportRP)
Honda OEM pads - $40
I don't recommend a resurface - at $25/piece for rotors, one way seems error proof and the other way seems 'not-as' error proof. I personally don't think the money saved on getting them resurfaced and then finding out something is wrong, is worth the hassle of redoing them a second time.

I got my PowerSlot rotors (CNCd from Brembo) and Hawk HP pads for that price.

OEM rotors suck. My mom warped hers in less than 20K, my girls went in about 30K. Mine only lasted for about a month after I got my car (there might have been an auto-x or two involved ).

For a Honda rotor, it's better to get new. They warp because of the low mass and material properties of the metal. When they cool too fast, they warp. By turning them, you're taking off more metal, and the metals structure is already deformed, making it more likely to do it again.

Linked ya And he's a H-T sponsor, he'll give you a discount. I've gotten about 4 sets from him now. I might go with them for my car as well, since I'm a little too cheap for a new set of PowerSlots.

Get either metalmaster pads or the ceramic pads. The ceramic pads are a bit dustier than the metalmaster pads. Importrp sells them. Axxis is the name.
