Default What intake are you running on a gsr swapped EK?

I did a gsr swap into my 00 EX in July, and I've been having some problems with OEM intake fitment. I kept the stock airbox, but there was no way I could make the OEM d16y8 arm meet up with the gsr manifold. The throttle body just sits too low and sticks too far out.

So, I got an LS integra arm from the junkyard and cut it in half. Now it fits sorta, but not really well... it keeps wanting to slip off on both ends no matter what I do.

Is there an OEM solution that works well? If I go aftermarket, I'm considering the passwordjdm powerchamber, but which one do I get? I would think the gsr intake, but I've heard from some people that you should use the intake that matches your car rather than the engine, or else you'll run into clearance issues, and the bolt holes won't line up. I wouldn't think it would matter with a shortram like the powerchamber, but I don't know.

So what are you guys running?

Get the GSR intake arm. That's common sense.

If it doesn't match up to the EX box, use the GSR box.

from the pictures I've seen, the gsr airbox doesn't look like the boltholes line up with the boltholes in the engine bay, which is why I haven't bought one yet. If someone can tell me for sure that the gsr airbox will bolt into the stock EJ holes, then that's probably that way I'll go.

Have you considered an Si airbox + Si intake piping?

You're correct that the GSR stock box does not fit the EK bolt holes. Your best bet is the Si as that has the B-series engine in the EK Chassis. It's also fairly easy to fab some simple brackets that will hold the GSR intake using the Civic bolt holes.

Well then the B18B arm would have worked.

The problem is that the GSR has a weird manifold design that drops down. The intake for a GSR is very different than an intake for a Si. Actually, the only thing different from the 96-00 EX and 99-00 Si is that the Si arm is a larger diameter. Same shape as the EX.

So if the EX arm won't work, the Si arm won't work.

He needs a GSR arm. Or get a short ram for a GSR from ebay for like $10. Then make it fit to the stock EX box if you want the stock intake.

Done.
