Default Is this what I need to plug a wire into the ECU?

Just wondering if this is what I need to run a wire to my ECU? I remember someone saying a while back that I could find the part I needed at Radioshack, is this it?

Easiest way to get ECU pins:

Go to your local pick-n-pull with a tinsnips.
Find any honda or Acura of the same OBD level as your car.
Reach under dash with tinsnips, cut off plug going into ECU.
Place plug into pocket.
Pay for any parts too big to fit in pockets. Walk out of pick-n-pull.
???????
PROFIT!!!

When I was doing my swap, I nipped a few ECU plugs just in case, and then ended up using a few pins out of them. You can either remove the pin from the existing wire and crimp it around your new wire, or you can just snip the wire off and solder it, pin and all onto your new wire. Either way works like a champ.

I do know that OBD1 pins do not work on OBD2 cars. They're shaped differently and will not fit in the OBD2 ECU plug.

lol maybe, but the last time I brought an ECU pin (or something similarly small and worthless) to the counter of my pick-n-pull they laughed at me and told me to put it in my pocket like everyone else does. I've tried to pay for nuts and bolts in ones and twos, and they won't charge me for them... they'll charge me a dollar for a double handful, but not for 1 or 2.

You're right, I shouldn't have advocated theft. Everyone else might not have as cool of a pick-n-pull as I do.

I've gotten that response many times. They know people do it, and they honestly don't care. They're not there to make pennies on the little crap... transmissions, engines, suspension parts, major body and interior parts, ECUs, pretty much anything worth over $40.... the rest is misc crap to them.

Just be sure they are the right ones, most ECU plugs have more than one size... plus OBD1 and OBD2 pins are not the same.
