sorry I know I posted this before but I just noticed the noice isnt there when I first start my car and only their when I drive for like 20 minutes

Ok try and figure out what is wrong with my car??? Sorry if this is hard to understand! Ok I can only hear this when Iam going slow because my exhaust covers up the sound but Iam pretty sure it does this when Iam going at higher speeds also. Oh yah and it doenst do it when I just start my car it takes awhile for the sound to start. Ok there is a rotating screaching sound coming from my car. I cant tell if it is from the front driver side or more in the middle of the front of the car. The sound is made with or without my feet on any of the pedals. I have a 97 civic ex manual with cai, header, cat back, and underdrive pulleys(aem). I have been told it is my breaks(drivers side to be exact) but the sound is sometimes made with my foot completely off the break but if it wasnt why would the sound not be made right when I start driving and only be made after about 15 or 20 minutes of driving. Any clues guys???

hmm... probably your squlier(sp) pins? probably jsut need knew brake pads... that noise is there for that purpose...

I had the same thing happen. A new pair of brake pads will fix the problem.

Warning tabs on your brake pads, time to get new brakes!!

my mom's integra was making the same sound with all the same symptoms you spoke of, and i was just sure it was the pads. then i took a look at the dust cover and noticed that it was bent and had been scraping on the edge of the rotor. thirty seconds later the problem was solved. check for that sort of thing before you go and buy new pads or anything else.

new pads duh, the longer you drive with the pins diggin into the rotor the more money its gonna cost, especially if you ruin the disk.

yah, for now, you can just trim off the tab until your new pads arrive. That way it won't be squealing like crazy or messing up your rotors.

yea man ran into the same problem. just change the break pads and yoru good to go.

dont trim the tab... its at a certain length for a reason, so you dont harm you rotors... if you go past the tab, more than likely the bolts/screw from you pads will start grinding on your rotor... and that means alot more $$$ than a 20 dollar pair of pads..
