your car must be runnin pretty hot in order to crack the manifold. id probably check o2...injector...or mayhe a tune up!

your OEM header is pretty common problem that happens to a lot of hondas. its just because the runers from the head to the cat a weak cast which would cause it to crack over time. it you still planing on running the single cam you should just buy a dc sport header or i recommeng for the price and power gain a MEGAN header

if you're going to stay with the sohc, go with either a dc sports or greddy 4-2-1.
if you plan on swapping down the road and looking to shell out 500+ or so on a good street/race header, go with any one of these; hytech, dtr, profab, rmf, an-r.
there is a header test somewhere on this forum. search for it.

I cracked mine as well. on ebay you could find cheap creamic header, which r just a knockoff brand. still great. good for heat. you should also get some wrap and wrap those bitches tight. yes yes 4-2-1, just means it starts at 4 pipes then down to two pipes then 1 pipe which is the down pipe. 4-2-1 is better then 4-1

Re: What headers are best for civics? (IGotNoSwap)
i searched all over the place and i could not find DC sports headers for (1997 civic dx) specifically....i saw everything else but for 97dx....the only 1997civic headers i found were all EX only....does that work? or is it something else?

it will work if you put the cat conv. after the down pipe. may cost a little more but its worth it.

No one makes a header for the y7, you need to get one for the y8 and move te cat further down te piping, you will also need to move the 02 sensors. then get the N1 for the y8 engine.
Also, V8's have headers
4 cylinder cars have a header

yes... bolts right up, but you will need to add a cat converter after the header like the EX(d16y8) setup.
I had a dc 421 header on my cx hatch(y7 motor), but decided not to follow through with adding the cat. I have since went back to stock and have both the header and ex cat for sale.

There you go, thats all you need right there. I had a DC header on my DX hatch waaayyyy back in the day, I remember racing my friends automatic V6 cougar and being dead even with him. Ive upgraded just a tiny bit since then though.....
