My AC compressor went out..black rubber pieces started to fly onto my hood..could anyone tell me why this happened.. and is it repairable?

well, the black pieces are probably that belt.

no it's not my belt...it's in the middle part of the spinning part..have no clue what it's called.. it was working good for about 3-4 days..then it happened on the freeway..could it be that i tightened the belt too hard that it wore out the inside of the ac compressor?

get another used compressor. if it's a b-series, i'll sell one to you for 75 plus shipping.

yep it's you compressor clutch it's electromagnetic, you can rebuild your compressor, but it's a tough job, better buy a new one
