what is a good air intake for a EG
I am just wondering if you can use a J's Racing air intake on a D-series motor or are they only for the B-series motor. I am looking to use a Skunk2 throttle body with this or schould I use a AEM intake than.
Thank you:
Mark

I'd recommend Password JDM's Carbon Fiber intakes (+5WHP, 6WTQ) or Fujita/Injen/K&N cold air intake, unless you have this air intake already

Neither are really worth it. Intakes are pretty much all the same. Just buy a cheap ebay pipe and a k&n filter. You will be happy with the results.

very very tru... intakes are pretty much piping with a filter... so the piping is all the same... get ebay piping and get a hi-flow k&n filter... its cheaper and i works the same as the others... i have had sooo many different intakes.. aem, injen, k and n, alll of them and i will never waste money like that again... on ebay the have cold air intakes and short ram.. so just buy a full intake off ebay and then buy that k&n filter i was talking about. its gonna cost u under $100

I don't think that'd be a good idea. My bud's automotive specialties professor said the reason K&N intakes have such good HP gains is because the filter has special oil on it, which flows through the intake and coats the MAF/MAP. This limits the readings it receives and thusly sends to the ECU, causing the engine to run with an imbalanced air/fuel ratio, which down the line will cause the engine to run improperly/fail prematurely. Hard to believe right?
My buddy had a K&N filter on his 240sx, now he needs a fresh MAF.

Run open TB. Just change your oil alot and park it on the rainy days.
Thats the beauty of multiple cars.

These guys are right.
Doesn't really matter what kind you get off ebay as long as it fits
You won't notice any changes in your car when you add an Intake. At most it will be better gas mileage! Which is a plus cuz gas cost $2.54 where I live!!!

then wrap your tubing with anti-heat wrap so deflect that engine bay heat from the tubing.. less heat=more HP. unless the tubing is coated with that zirconia-stuff

NOOOOOO. anti heat wrap traps heat in intake tubes. please dont give about bad advice

Save your money and get a swap. You'll spend a fortune and probably still won't be happy with the end result IMO. Ie.... intake, throttle body, header(which hasn't been mentioned whether he has one or not), Exhaust.
