Some of the people on H-T will swear by Honda MTF or GM Syncromesh.

Most garages use regular motor oil and don't have problems.

Here's the code I go by:
If I'm expecting (planning to do it), I pick up Honda MTF, if I'm not (in the garage or helping somebody else, as the nearest Honda or GM dealer is like an hour away), regular oil works 100% well.

You shouldn't need to touch syncromesh, but if you want, you can use it without problems. Sometimes it gives you a little longer of a life when your 3rd gear syncro starts to take a ****.

It's honestly a matter of opinion unless ur chipping gears, then I say use syncromesh. Otherwise, oil is fine .

EDIT:
PS: Don't use gear oil, if you're talking about what I think ur talking about (that 190w30 ****) then don't. You use regular oil, like Mobil1 10w30. Gear oil is way too thick.

unnecessary...unless youre bandaid-ing a worn transmission.
Honda MTF is more than fine, 10w30 is fine as well.

Amsoil mtf; it is very similar to the gm friction modified so it could also be seen as a bandaid for a worn transmission, however it meets and exceeds the requirements by many manufacturers Honda is one of them.

that tranny was jacked when i first got the H. made it last a very long time with that "band-aid" but now its broke so im using a F series tranny, which sucks big time. turbo is all here, just waiting for some more parts.
H2B is gonna go on the hatch when i find a H longblock. all mounts and goodies NA build are in the shed.

Sometimes will help band-aid a trans, it won't fix anything, and it doesn't always work.

10w30 works fine use syncromesh if you have a notchy or grinds in the transmission.
