WHAT THE FU*K! Just got car back from Honda and.................!!!
Ok well i had made a few posts earlier about my car running rich and that the idle was fluctuating out of control. Well i took it into honda and after 3 ******* days i get it back. All they did was replace the IAC and hook up a few hoses. Now dont get me wrong, the car runs alot better, but i paid for labor on that!
Anyways, I just picked it up and started it up. The idle is almost fixed(still fluctuates, but barley noticable) and the richness has minimized too. BUT what I dont get at all was when i started the car up and opened the hood, i could hear a loud piercing noise comming from the timing belt side? It wasnt there before and we just replaced the timing belt when we did the swap (500 miles)!?! After letting it sit, the noise went away. I then proceded to drive it home from Honda. When i got to my house, I turned off the car and opened the hood. About 15 sec. later the noise came back, but this time when the car was OFF!?! I have heard a noise similar to this with my coolent lines but not by the timing belt! It sounded as if oil or something was trying to cool down. It was so loud that i had to back away and it went on for about 30 sec. What the **** could this be guys?
I dont understand what tehy could have done?
Please help

Have you checked all your fluid levels? Our old cavalier made a loud shriek kinda noise when it was almost outta coolant.... air was are being sucked in through a pin hole in a hose.

My guess is that one of the vacuum hoses they replaced aren't on there tight enough. It happened on my swapped hatch for a while and went away when I reseated the hose behind and under the intake manifold. Try it

OK well i found the problem...........Cant believe i didnt see it earlier..........The medal pipe that goes from the valve cover to the intake was plugged up with a rubber plugged. When i saw it i knew right away why it was making that sound. I went back to Honda pissed and the guy said...."ohh yea, i forgot to take that off!?!? The sound was pressure from the gases trying to be realesed and they were some how squeezing through the seals!?!? It could have blown the seals and oil would have been squirting out if it would have been on there any longer. He didnt even really apologize! AND THIS IS HONDA THAT DID THIS!!!!!

Re: WHAT THE FU*K! Just got car back from Honda and.................!!! (careawholelot)
Well I can't fix your problem, but may I offer you some direction? Honda is good for nothing other then oil changes, they don't understand the concept of after market parts on there cars. I had to take my car there after a night at the track, I had a nitrous related problem (didn't know that at the time). To make a long story short, stock timing is 16 degrees, they set it to 0 after that and a compression test I took the car home and it ran like poo, I found what the six "honda specalists" couldn't. My after market fuel pressure regulator (not naming any names... AEM) had failed and the diaphram blew out so one of my vacuum lines was dubbing as a fuel line........Those ******* said I needed a new engine........ I laugh in the face of any Honda service advisor, there no more then BILLY BABA's.....If the noise is like a ping ping from under the car, mine used to do that until my swap but I don't know wtf is was.

D'oh, what a ***. That can cause PCV valve damage if too much pressure builds up in there.
