what exhaust for a gsr??

Default what exhaust for a gsr??

ok well i have a ej1 so its got a z6. i have a gsr swap on the way and woundering what exhaust i should run... i think im gonna get 2.5 piping but im not real sure of the muffler.. i have a stock gsr muffler i was running wit the z6 but not sure what i should do.. what do u guys think i should do wit piping and muffler?

If I were me I'd run 2.25" piping, although 2.5 would be ok. Anything bigger wouldn't be good. My personal favorite is the Greddy Evo II muffler.

so your sayin a 2.25 would be better for me then a 2.5..

why im sayin 2.5.. i thought d series piping was 2.25... so i would think u would want a lil bigger for 1.8 bseries... but i dont know alot about exhaust

No, the stock piping isn't 2.25". 2.25" you'll be fine, and with 2.5" you'll be fine. It's all preference.

o ok... well i want to run as big or a lil bigger then stock piping for a gsr.. is that still smaller then 2.25 lol. sorry for all th questions. i like to know before i do...

GSR stock exhaust is smaller than 2.25". A lot of people go with this size when going NA.

well for right now.. n/a for college but all of my friends have a turboed typeR,ls,h22.. so i dont believe it will stay n/a for long

well if you are boosting it soon, you might just want to go with the 2.5 because you will be in need of a bigger pipe soon anyway

Actually...if you are planning on boosting soon in the near future I'd just wait on the exhaust. Because I would go with 3" for boost. Otherise if you plan on staying NA for quite a while just get 2.25 or 2.5 and get a nice sounding muffler. I like the Greddy Evo II like I stated before

In terms of mufflers, and without enough on your car to make backpressure too critical, I would think the only thing you're really concerned about now would be the sound of the exhaust, right?

personally, when I want to know what an exhaust sounds like I go to youtube. everyone posts their car with a new exhaust and you can hear just about anything.

That's what a lot of the links go to, and more (streetfire, etc.). It's just a compilation of exhaust note videos that have been found to help the average H-Ter find what they're looking for.

i was thinkin more on the lines of how much backpressure i need.. or ne.. like wounderin if i should just use the stock gsr muffler
