i was thinking the same exact ish for this post ..deciding between es oval or sp type ..is it really quiet ? heard it on an h22a hatch and it was loud alright.. heard a skunk2 power extreme on an h22a eg also and it sound pretty good.

The updated Tanabe Super Medallion Racing spec on my 1992 Cx and the older Tanabe Racing Medallion on the 1992 Si hatch.
The new version sports a slightly bigger canister/tip and is 100% stainless steel including all flanges. the piping is thinner too thus it's lighter than the older one.
I love them both, but they are loud and a little pricey.
I still don't recommend custom piping because it's not all 100% stainless and unless it'a mandrel-bent I'd question the flow.
