What Engine should I swap in ? I have an automatic 92 CX
I know it's ******* gay to have an automatic but that's what was givin to me, I already put a lot of work into my car so I don't wanna get rid of it. my current engine is a 92 DX, and is burning more oil then Gas. so instead of fixing it or replacing it for a other peice of **** engine I'd rather go for something with more *****.. so what type of engine could I put in, that has a automatic tranny ?

well, first of all, whats your price range? how much you want to spend.
and what are you looking to do wih it, race it? take it to the track?
what kind of numbers are you looking for?

I guess Canada got auto CX Civics, because the U.S did not.
So before anyomne flames, don't talk **** because CDM and USDM do have noticable differences.
As far as the swap goes, buy an auto-manual conversion mount from HASport and swap in whatever D or B engine you want.

ditch the auto and swap in a manual. The auto tranny is worthless. Then if you don't have much money i would just get a sohc vtec engine like a d16z6 or y8....However if you got some money to burn go for a b series.

I don't want to take it to the track or anything or expecting to have real low numbers, I just don't want to be left behind neons and echos. you couldn't beleive how slow my car is. but I'd also like to keep up with sport cars too.

since I'm changing my engine, I need to change my tranny.
and if I'm changing my transmition, would it be much more to get it manual?
I don't want to **** out too much money

i don't think it would cost too much more. Seriously though if you don't change to manual there isn't much hope for your car and keeping up with other cars. Honda Automatic Trannys just suck

You should try the LS auto swap than. Should be plug and play if your don't want to put alot of money and time to do the auto-manual conversion. LS motor is alot better than what you got right now and they dont cost that much.

would I have to change the transmition with the LS ?
how many horses does the LS have ? my DX is a 105 HP I think. thank god I don't have the 92HP CX engine.

No you don't have to get a new tranny. You should just get the complete auto swap. I believe the LS motor is roughly about 140hp and very torquey. (Correct me if I am wrong.)

Correct on the horsepower and torque, but may I add something?
Swapping in the complete automatic LS will probably end up being a nightmare. The LS tranny is way physically bigger than the Civic tranny and the right side framerail/unibody will need to be cut to fit.
I don't mean "trimmed" either bro, I mean CUT pretty deeply. My shop has done this swap into a 1998 Civic 4-door and it was a nightmare.
Custom topside and rear tranny brackets had to be fabricated. Wiring was a nightmare because of the incompatibility of the auto tranny ECU for the Integra and how the auto tranny controls came in the Civic. Not sure if that still rings true on the 1992-1995 Civic though.
After all of that trouble the car was still dead-*** slow. He has since wised up and swapped in a manual tranny, but unfortunately he got another shop to do it and those dumbasses left our custom mounts in (for the AUTO tranny) instead of using stock Civic mounts like they should have. 1996-2000 Civic auto and manual chassis have the same welded-in tranny mount locations on the passenger side frame rail, unlike the 1992-1995 Civic which requires the HASport mount.
They cut the topside tranny bracket and ghetto wleded the **** out of. The mount broke, causing the passenger axle to break and rip open the bell housing.
They fixed the hole with ******* JB Weld.
Go manual or just boost the stock motor. A boosted SOHC would assrape any auto LS swap (provided the turbo set-up is running correctly) and you would probably beat down some B16A swaps to.

a Z6 or Y8 swap would pull that car around nicely. they're everywhere, they're cheap and they're easy to boost.
also a manual tranny is lighter than the auto you have in there now. a little more weight reduction on your already light *** car would help out a lot.
a manual Z6 in a CX - you'll probably go from mid 17's to mid 15's.
i'm just taking a guess... anyone know for sure?
the LS is also a great swap for the price.

I'd think more low 15's high 14;s with a competent driver.
My old 1992 Si hatch with full interior weighing in at 2259lbs. with only an AEM intake on street tires ran a few 15.6 passes with me driving.
Imagine a sub 2100lb. D16Z6 CX

I would boost up my stock engine, but the original problem was that it's burning oil. and I don't want to spend alot of cash and a engine that wont last a year. so I though of swapping the thing for something stronger instead of fixing it or swapping for the same thing.
I was thinking of a regular 95 SI engine or something. maybe something with V-tech. and I would probebly get a turbo next summer (if I get a new engine this summer that is)

You are wrong. CX has a 70 hp engine. The VX has 92 hp with vtec-e.
EDIT: Oh wait you're in canada. Dumb cmd cars. All different from usdm.
