well its definitely not an f22. the inner timing belt cover has p28 and p08. its a 95 motor i believe. and it lines up with a d15b7 so it is a d series.

That's the tranny code, not the head code. P28 is a D16Z6 ecu and P08 is the JDM D15B and D16Z6 head code. Either way, it's not an F22.

The neat thing about the codes stamped on heads like this is that it's actually a part of the real part number.

So it's as easy as finding the part numbers that start with 12100 (which means cylinder head) and then the three characters stamped on the head.

12100-P2A-XXXs would belong to a D16Y7 ('96-'00 Civic DX/LX or '96-'97 del Sol S).

Granted this is just the US cylinder heads it could be. Overseas there would be more P2As from other D-series engines.

I don't exactly know what the -5 at the end might mean.

I'm thinking that the -5 has to do with the year and maybe if it was from a manual or auto tranny...

The only US part number beginning with 12100-P2A is 12100-P2A-000, which is the same for all D16Y7s in the Civic DX, Civic LX and del Sol S. Auto or manual, the cylinder head part number is the same.
