Default What engine do I swap into my 97 hatch?

I'm gonna start off by saying, I know nothing about Hondas. I bought a 1997 hatch. It's a automatic, but would like to swap out the motor and make it a manual. I would like to know what engine would be the best? I have talk to a guy that works at a shop, that all they deal with is Hondas. He told me a gsr would be great. So I guess I want to know is, GSR or B16? And what is the difference? Have a automatic is just to slow. Please Help?.!,,

b series motors are great. if its between the gsr and the b16 as your only choices, id go with the b18c1(GSR) It has more displacement. motor swaps aren't as hard as they sound. Just do your research and get some experienced help and youll be fine. Good luck on your new project!

X2. Tried and true, more or less all bolt in and easy to do. Most all of the B series stuff interchanges. Go and get your hands dirty!
