If it's DOHC then it's a B16A3, and sorry to bust his bubble but there were waaaaaaaay more than 2000 of them made.

The delslow b16's are OBD1 and are pretty much the same as the 99-2000Si b16's except the 99-2000 B16's are OBD2.

yeah tell him to hold on to that B16delslow cause hes right, they're pretty rare.
(but they did make more than 2000 of them).

you are somewhat correct. 94-95 del sol VTECs had B16A3s. 96-97 del sol VTECs have B16A2s.
if that guy at your dads work really has a 97 del sol VTEC then he's lucky as hell. apparently their were only 250 97 del sol VTECs ever made. . a guy on h-t that lives in my city had a 97 del sol VTEC until it got stolen.

Re: (itr_eg)
Actually I think production numbers were around 2000 for 97 Del Sol VTEC's....it was the last year of production, first and only year without the foglights Your dad's friend does have a rare car

Yeah i like to see you get my delslow... B16a head's flow a little better than the gsr, it can easly be made into a por mans type r. I can bolt one all irt parts too. With the right work iv seen over 250hp to the wheels. And the worlds fastest b16 is in the 9s. So you might say the car is 2500lbs. Mine "WAS"! And is getting lower. I have a JDM b16a With a GSR LSD hydro tranny. Could of went turbo like it was before ,but ill stick with all motor. Ill take any one that wants to go in a canyon..lol I had a 94 coupe with a JDM GSR and LSD hydro tranny and that alone was killing STR4s pretty well. But B16a's Shouldnt be overlooked. I bought a delsol to prove a point. Car has potential. JDM B16a duz to. And i got a 95 Vetc Delsol. Cleanest one around to.
