ATF goes through one and comes out you don't have to plug it up if nothing is going in nothing is going to come out i was thinking on useing it as an oil cooler

if your eg is a 5spd, and the radiator is oem honda part you shouldnt have one. if you'ved changed it, majority of the time shops will give you an aftermarket auto one. if you're lucky you'll get a manual one. either one doesnt matter it still works. you wont leak anything from it, and you wont even have to plug it up either. just leave it be.

not necessarily i can still trim down and use earl's fittings....hmm now you really have me thinking...what exactly would be needed to do something like this and would it even be worth doing??
hmm we might need a new post here.

Re: (dingusjt)
thing is... will it cool the oil down a significant amount? b/c coolant gets about 200degrees. and oil temp (no clue) shouldnt be that far off, but will it make that much of a difference?

i just figure that tranny fluid needs to stay cooler than coolant, so maybe it would keep it cooler? i don't think what i just said makes any sense, but you get the point.it would have to get a bit cooler running through all those lines, but would it drop oil pressure too much?? ahh, screw it....

Re:
As said before, they are just for ATF fluid line. Instead of having an external fluid cooler, they incorporate it into the radiator. Lots of manufacturers do this, I know because I bypass those lines at work when I do transmission flushes. The coolant doesn't ever make contact with the fluid so why cap it off? No need. I've ran mine like that for a couple years and no problems.
About using ATF coolers as Oil coolers. Id shy away from it. Usually oil cooler lines are bigger in diameter. Thin atf lines might choke the oil system. Maybe not though. Id just rather have a true oil cooler. You can get them off of rx7's and other cars fairly easy. Look on the typeR oil filter housing at the lines they use for the cooler for reference to be sure.
