5th gen civics are commonly referred to as "EG's" since all of the japanese 5th gen civics are EG's. In reality, the only civics in the US that are EG's are the DX and LX sedans, and del sols.

An EG is what most people on here call a 92-95 Civic. In reality there are very frew USDM models (some Sols and 4 doors) that are actually an EG. People call them EG because it's the "JDM" way the cars are labeled.

EDIT: Dustin beat me to it, but you get the idea.

BTW: The 96-00 is an "EK" to most people on here.

An EG is more than an egg but just refer to it as an egg and you'll be fine.

The coupes are EJ and the EX sedans are EH.

Granted, it is more of a JDMspeak but it's not just for JDM cars.

Somewhat correct.

All USDM 1992-1995 hatches carry either EH2 or EH3 as their chassis code rather than EG. EH2 is the CX/VX/DX designation, while EH3 means it's an Si model.

EG is just the loose terminology used for 1992-1995 Civics.
