What kind of answer is that!?

You will probably have to run a chipped P28 (what I reccomend) or run a P30 OBD1 ECU and run a conversion harness.

well in 98 it was considered odb2a, and in 99 and newer its odb2b.. so i need a 98 or older ecu.. im trying to avoid going to odb1..im just doing a stock swap for now.. so no chipped ecus for now..

But P30 fuel maps are really close to the P2T so why not? Also it would help if he decides in the future to get a chipped P28 or chip the P30. Won't have to buy another conversion harness.

best answer! the p30 is the better ecu to run b/c you can chip it and its easier to tune on

My ek hatch is a B16 equipped obd2a -98 from the factory.

Your curiosity is already getting the better of you. save yourself a lot of time and money. get an obd1 ecu and buy a conversion harness thats obd2a -> obd1. Tuning with an obd1 ecu is the easiest and most affordable way to tune. Unless you actually think that you are going to run that b16 in its stock form forever.

Why would you want to run "non-chipable" (yes I know it is possible but its not worth it) ECU with SOHC engine fuel maps on a B16? That would only be a temp. fix.

I'm telling you just get a OBD2a--->OBD1 harness and a P30 and you're golden. Won't have to worry about whether your engine is running like ***.

I am currently running a EUDM P73 on my B16 swap in my 97. Great ecu, in my opinion. I have no need to worry about tuning and blah blah blah, it's just my daily driver. I still get around 30mpgs with that ecu.

yea thats my thing rite now.. just a daily driver.. and once i get the money to do my boost setup i want.. then ill worry about tuning.. the wrecked si i bought had a vafc2 in it.. so.. and i got lucky, my brother in law is a cnc machinest.. so hes gonna help me make a manifold and plate so i can run a t3-t4 setup.. and still have my a/c... so thats why im holding back on getting obd1 so soon...

Yeah but what the expletive, I mean if u want the best possible STOCK ECU, use the one that honda put in there...if they wanted to reuse the P30, they would have, I'm sure the "differences might be small" but never-theless, the P2T is SUPPOSED to go to that engine... So if you don't plan on using it or making a hacked up P28 to act like it or if you don't plan on chipping it, & it's ur daily driver, etc. Just use the ECU that's meant to go in it...

aha your gonna boost it later,

Well i suggest getting the p28 or p30 and a harness.
put in the p30 map or p2t map and drive it like that until you boost, cause your gonna need p28/p30 anyway when you go boost.
