What ECU/Header for a eg with a b16a
ok so i admit i am pretty much a newb when it comes to what parts to use on swapped civics.
i have a 93 hatch with a b16a stock asides from gsr cams.
currently i have a stock p28 ecu it runs good with no cel or anything but the rev limit is real low and the car honestly doesnt feel as peppy as i think it should (comparing to SOHC civics) also if the p72 won't work what ecu should i use, i dont want to have the p28 chipped.
what i want to know is can i use a p72 ecu off a GSR to run my car? not too sure about this one.
and can i use a Greddy GSR header for the car as well? i figure b series headers are about the same but i want to make sure it will work before i purchase these parts.
thank you

I dont see how a stock p28 would work well with a b16a, its what i use for my d16z6. Shouldnt u be running the correct ecu for the engine? otherwise you could chip and tune it for the engine but it would be easier to just find the correct ecu.

Correct , Chipped P28 will also run it, but you state that you don't want to chip.

ok so basically you guys are all saying the p28 shouldnt allow my car to run right... even tho it is.
i dont really know much about the car, i purchased it swapped and what the guy told me is its a unmolested (stock) p28. like i said i have no CEL's and i know the light bulb is in there cause i had a CEL a couple weeks ago (unrelated)
its not a 92-95 B16a i am pretty sure its an older one... i just dont know what freaking ECU i should be using... Also would the GSR header work? lol no one has even touched that yet.
and say if i was to build a poormans ITR would a p72 work? or should i just get my p28 chipped and give up on figuring out what ECU to use.

a p28 will run it fine, it just wont run as strong and wont rev as high as it should. but it will be good enough to get you going, i ran mine off a p28 when i swapped it until i could get it chipped. if you run a p30 you will have to wire up the knock sensor. with a chipped p28 you do not. i used parts for 99-00si as far as header and cai goes. exhaust and everything bolted up perfect. mines in a 94 si.

I wouldn't say its running right, fuel and timing maps aren't right for that engine and your redlining about 1000RPM too early

It isn't going to throw any CELs, as long as all sensors are hooked up correctly and functioning<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by dividedas1 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">are functional the ECU isn't going to throw any codes

As long as the wiring its been converted to OBD1 it doesn't matter if it was originally OBD0, OBD1 or OBD2

Its been said three times P30 from a '94 - '95 Del Sol DOHC Vtec, or if emissions testing isn't a concern P30 from a '92 - '95 JDM Civic SiR, SiRII.

It should, but it might be slightly lower to the ground due to the B18Cs taller deck height.

You could use either, but i'd probably go with a chipped P28, P72 fuel and timing maps are probably going to be slightly off, not by very much though.
