what ecu is better to use for my b20v setup in my 95 coupe!!
i was wondering what ecu is the best to use on a 95 civic coupe with a b20v mild build! i have a rare xsi b16 pr3 ecu but thats a 1.6l compared to the 2.0l soo i was wondering is it better to get a virgin gsr?1.8l? can anyone help me please thanks!

Hey man, sounds like you and I are in the same boat lol. I currently have a EH2 (1992 VX) with a JDM obd1 B20B, JDM odb1 B16A head and ecu. I have heard of people in my area using a virgin GSR ecu with their LS/vtec and B20/vtec swaps. It was recomended to me from Innovative Motorworks in Carlisle,PA (http://www.innovative-motorworks.com/) to get a Neptune chipped ecu, or Hondata s300. Of cource, from what I was told and have researched, Hondata would be the best choice.

do what his last sentence said.
i would never run a b20v on a stock ecu. ever.
get it chipped basemapped at least then dyno tuned.
a p72 still makes no sense. doesn't run what the head runs and is still smaller then the block. silly.

If you plan to use the GSR intake manifold, get a P72 or you'll have to have IAB control added to whatever you get. Or you can run Hondata and set one of the outputs to actuate the IAB control. Otherwise, a p06, p75, p28, p30, etc can work.
The B20V will want as much air as possible. I'd get an aftermarket intake and throttle body and run something other than a P72. You'll have to have the ECU chipped no matter what, so it doesn't matter what ECU you use. A Civic DX automatic ECU will work the same as a Del Sol VTEC ECU. The program you load on it doesn't care as long as it has the circuitry added for VTEC. And even then, it's possible to simply run a non-vtec ECU as VTEC by using a different output and a relay.

NotaJDMfanboy said it well...
are you going to use the IAB funtion?
just about any obd1 ecu can be chipped, converted into what you need.
if you have a chipped ecu, I have a Bin i can email you. its a copy of my old b20v. it will work as a great basemap for you to drive on untill you get tuned.
Or I can sell you a b20v ready ecu. 1 C note

He has a Victor X manifold, so he doesn't need the IAB function. So a P28 or converted non-VTEC or non-vtec with Hondata and utilizing a different output would work.
I looked into adding IAB and PWM control to ECUs, and had printed out a ton of paperwork on the parts and where it all went...and then lost it. I can chip an ECU practically with my eyes closed now.
