Si definately stands for sport injection... I think the first Si was in 85 with the civic and CRX ..All models were Carb'd except the Si which was fuel injected...Could have been 84...not really sure..

Si= Sports Injection
SiR= Sports Injection Racing
GS= Gran Sport
GSR = Gran Sport Racing

i kinda winged the last two, not sure bout those. i heard it somewhere before.
and while we're on the topic of GSR's does anyone have a picture of the factory GSR emblem/sticker ?

first it was "Civic S" then they added fuel injection and became "Civic Si".

Civic sport injection. sounds fast doesn't it?
