what does it mean when your cel code stays on?
ok so I just swapped a d15b vtec engine in my 94 civic hatch becouse my other one gave out, and when i checked for codes and jumped the ecu the cel light stays on and doesnt blink is this normal? can anybody try it on there cars that are in perfect working conditions to see if there light stays on?

means that you have no Codes stored in the ECU. your car is fine according to the CEL. if you get a CEL i always check the code b4 shutting the car off.

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
im just scared cause I have a helms manual from a da and it says that if your cel stays on it means your ecu is faulty, but that's obdo so it might not be the same. also i moved the throttle body a little and the rpms went all the way up and began to surge, any ideas?

surging idle is most likely the IACV or vaccum leak

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
its not really a surging idle, when i try revving the engine a little the engine revs all the wAY UP before I even move the throttle 2 centimeters, but the idle is good.

hmm throttle cable too tight?

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
checked that i even loosened it all the way, and it still didn't work. everything is hooked up except for a part I broke its the black thing to the right of the intake manifold on the top back part of it, i broke the top nipple of it but i still hooked up the connector an the bottom vacuum tube to the im
