Hey is it true that an oversized Vtec solenoid will make the Vtec open harder. if so were can i find one. my friend has one on his GSR motor, he says its a japanese solenoid. i want to know if this will add any power or is just cosmetic use, let me know were i can g=et one of these.

all the vtec selenoid does is lock up the vtec rockers....it's not going to sound any different. If you put in some different cams, etc, then you would "hear" a difference.

I still dont understand what part of the solenoid with be oversized.

yes, it's called a JDM vtec solenoid. The extra voltage though this line will cause you to "open harder." however you need the JDM wiring harness to handle this capacity. along with everything else JDM to make this JDM vtec solenoid work. And you need the JDM battery too. And you must put the JDM battery on the right side. you also need a giant foot up ur ***. but it has to be JDM.

that was funny, but i have the LS/Vtec i like JDM but to an extent, i mean form and fuction is nice to have ill im asking is were can i get one. thanx for the replies

Basically they're saying not to do this mod, as it's not going to make a difference. If you're trying to get a harder "kick" when you crossover, go with a bigger intake cam. Adding a Jspec solenoid won't make a noticeable difference.

can imagine seeing an N1 muffler sized solenoid hooked up, delivering the "death blow" VTEC crossover

hahahaha. . . this post made my day. Go to pep boys and buy an apc chrome plizated vtec solenoid cizover. It will make your solenoid look bigger fo shizzle.

I have one in my car.
It opens very hard.
Once i was racing myself and it opened so hard, my cd from the cd player fell out, and flew though my rear window
