What does this do?

I ask because I need to find a way to get rid of my CEL, due to lack of a cat.

First of all...I do not recommend running without a cat...but I have heard that you can just get the secondary O2 sensor and set it somewhere out of the way...it still should be getting clean air, so it wouldnt throw a code!

That depends on which OBDII system you have in your car... 96-99 is not as strict as 2000 and up. Half of cars built for 2000 has a "full compliant" OBDII system.

is it possible to run a resistor? My buddy and me did that with his o2 sensor in his WRX...it fools the ecu into thinking its got clean air, thus rids of the CEL
