What does b16, d16, etc. stand for?
Just wondering what B stands for in b16, b18, etc. and what does the D stand for in D15, D16 motors? I understand D series motors are SOHC and B series are DOHC, but shouldn't the H22A be B22A then? Does anyone know?

Just different motor series.
The H are made differently than the B, the B is different then the D and the D is different from the H.
There is also the F series.
EDIT: To answer the second part the 15,16,18, and 22 represent the Displacement. 18 = 1.8L

also, most of the parts in each of the series are interchangable. thats why u see all these ls/vtec and crvtec swaps. d's are SOHC k's b's and h's along with f's are DOHC
