Re: What do you think of the JDM look? (spnhb)
ya know what... who really cares what others may think... i personally like a clean car which includes many japanese parts simply cuz they are simple! not this outrageous crap the u.s. sells to the public...
ok...
-m3 mirrors... hmmm... now lets think... THEY BELONG ON AN M3! not your moms civic
-chrome wheels; no comment
-outrageous bodykits... what r they thinking?

i'd rather see more jdm rice than regular hyperwhite rice.
i'm a big fan of jdm, it may be played out but uh... we drive civic's. how long have they been played out?

Well to those like myself.... who have had the M3 mirrors when they first came out.. they were really nice, but it was a bitch to get use to. Since I cracked my front spoiler...I just got another factory one in.. I'm going back to the originals side mirrors and have them color matched. The thing I love about them is the blue color to them that block out excessive glare, JDM is ok, I don't find the "craze" over a fad. Basics... clean solid colors, no stickers, no wild kits, just upgraded factory options that I can actually use and look nice too. just my .02

Most tuned cars I see in Japan have more stickers than the riceboys over here, so what is this "clean JDM look?"

jdm is ill **** I just hate people who act like it makes thier car either faster than anything, automatically makes them cooler than everyone else, gives themselves the right to think they are better than others.
got the hook ups for thier ****, and tell people they can hook them up and charge them double or even tripple sometimes what they originally got it for. Which is ****** weak...
I am building a sil eighty soon, and It is gonna be a sick *** sleeper lemme tell you.

JDM style is great i love it, JDM style i guess is the Term i use to describe functional cars.
BUT there are great Companies based out of the USA i must say. I love JDM parts but the US economy doing so bad i would find my self supporting US companies THAT ARE WORTH keeping around.
Benen Ind, Skunk2,Aem, just to name a few! just my two Cents. I have a civic that i consider JDM style but im not buying products because there JDM im buying them because they work!
Andrew @ groupA, thnaks for all your help
Ken @ Benen Ind, you make some of the best products to come from the US. Cant beleave you rolled the Blue EG i wont tell anyone he he he!

I love the look, and while it may be all over the place in magazines, it's not played out by any means in a lot of areas. dc24me will attest that you rarely see clean 'JDM/j-spec styled' cars in MA.
As for the Rota slipstreams, well, if I get them, they are for my snow tires and yes, they are pretty ricey in concept!

Slipstreams? No!!!! A set of silver RNRs or bronze Volk CE28s would look pimp on your si. Besides, Si wheels are probably the nicest 15" Civic/ Integra wheel out there right now.

JDM steez is definately the trendy thing right now but if you own a "Japanese" car then why wouldn't you want to put quality "japanese" parts on it?? It just makes sense. Just **** is crazy expensive cause of the demand. I personally belief no matter what "trend" comes along a nice CLEAN AND FUNCTIONAL look will always be hot. It will never tire.

I had clear corners on my car but I replaced them with my stocks, because they were cheap *** lenses made in taiwan. When it comes time for me to do a 96R nose on my car, I'll probably stay with a steel OEM hood if I can't afford a genuine Spoon CF hood. I am that conceited.

Skunk2 has race history. Roger Foo used Skunk for a while as well as does Taz Harvey in the Speedvision World Challenge Touring Car series.

True JDM is nice. Its just funny to me how so many people claim to be JDM without any real JDM parts. And too many people just associate JDM with Spoon style.
You want to join the club and be JDM too?
Just spray your rims black and get a CF hood!

I'm with you, it's just tight ****, 'nuff said! People out here are into the spaceship looking cars, I rarely ever see a tastefully done car.

Re: What do you think of the JDM look? (CleanSi)
I love JDM I buy it because most of the time it is the best looking stuff for the car. Ex- JDM EG6 cluster=sweet. I just sent away my money orders for my EG6 cluster, clock, climate controls, headlights and corners. and I couldn't be happier. I love JDM!!!
