what do you think of this car?
Hi guys, ive been looking for a good civic to mod for a few weeks and i havent seen much for sale in my area. Then i saw this car that is pre-modded. I dont care much about working on a car myself. What do you think of what has been done to this car? Are the mods good? Is the price good?

its not a bad price... but mods literally dont add value to the car... i wouldnt pay that much for that car... my friend just paid $3300 for a hatch with b16... for that car i wouldnt pay anything over $4500
you have only been looking for a few weeks to find a car... be patient... i looked for over a year to find my hatch

Thats overpriced, especially for a 94 hatch... Modifications to a car rarely add value in a public market, mods are for the enjoyment of the present owner of the car who does them. A honda civic on the market like that one could have a bigger engine swapped into it and expensive custom parts, but to an average buyer, its just a honda civic and therefore wants to pay the value of just a plain honda civic.

Re: (hondainspired)
yeah just walk past this one and buy my stock hatch for $3000.
I also love the ghetto placement of the sidemarkers. [/sarcasm]

looks like a ricer had that car b4. the nice custom painted interior and a tach that goes to 10k with no redline (and im assuming the drivetrain had no work done to it) you just dont know what its been through. also....that is a high price for that car.

Re: (Alchologne)
Personally I wouldn't buy a modded out car at all. Even if it had just intake and exhaust I wouldn't buy it. Just because of the fact that 90% of the people who enjoy Honda's like we all do, also enjoy ripping on their car and testing the car to its limits. The previous owner of my car was an elderly lady, everything was bone stock. It ran and drove good so I didn't as many worries.
Also if you had that car you would probably rip on it and want to smash around. Just like the previous owner wanted to do with it. There's more of a chance that there could be problems with the car down the road if you buy a car that has been "modded."

Re: what do you think of this car? (murmur9)
Id like to thank all who replied to my post. It turns out that this guy just sold the car. This was one of the last civics in my area that was a possibility. You guys are right about the price being high, this car is worth 4,200 on kelly blue book. Does anyone know what are good places to look for cars online? ive exhausted autotrader and craigslist. thanks again

I say its a OK deal...but try to talk him to lower the price a bit.
here's what my projec hatch cost...
$2400= 92 civic SI captiva blue pearl w/120 miles
$2300 B16a Sir2 swap
+$500=Body mods includes JDM amber corner, CFhood, CFspoon style wing.
$980 =wheels/tires
$800 =suspension setup
$250=new clutch
$60=intake
$$$$more to come when I done with it.$$$$
Total comes to...more then $7K
Me personally I would not sell my hatch, if I cant get what I pay for!! Thats why its not for sell

Nobody is going to pay for all the mods on a car. If you buy a $300 car and put some $1000 rims on it that doesn't necissarily make it worth $1300.

Re: what do you think of this car? (rcav)
I got my dx, slightly modded for $2400. (mostly rice, that I took out).
Its more fun to get a car that is "virgin" and make it how you want it.
Nice paint, ditch the ghetto side markers.
