Default What do you think? Auto eg to auto 1.8 swap

Yes I am asking a question that you all will say wtf???...lol I just picked up a 92 dx clean body automatic for 800$$ Interior is actually good condition as well! Overall plans were new paint, seats (cloth gsr) lip, duckbill, and rims lowered ofcourse. So I am thinking maybe a 1.8 swap.. Not GSR but LS ...WOULD THAT BE A DIFFICULT SWAP? just a lil different thought.....

*Please try not to be real negative* lol

Manual swaps are easy so an automatic swap wouldn't be that hard. You migh need to find some integra parts for it to work though, not sure what all will need to be swapped over.

Not sure on the 5th GEN but you cant do an Auto Bseries swap in a 6th GEN without MAJOR modifications, One being notching the frame rail, And mounts.

so you think the motor swap itself would be cheaper then a manual swap...I haven't really looked for a price yet...

The mounts for the b-series are different for the auto and manual tranny. there is a seperate computer to work the tranny also. 94EG8 can chime in because I am fairly sure he knows about this particualr swap more than myself.

Since the donor and project car are both automatics already, it's going to be a simple drop in affair for the motor/trans. I can't say for sure on the wiring but since honda likes to keep things simple, the wiring should be setup the same for controlling the solenoids in the auto trans.

You've clearly never actually looked at this before have you? The only automatic tranny i'm aware of that will fit in a 5th gen civic where you don't have to cut the frame rail to clear the case is a '90 - '91 LS tranny which is supposed to fit. As for the wiring, its no where near the same. Integra use a seperate computer (TCU) to control the automatic transmission, civics simply use the ECU. Its not an easy swap. Its far easier to simply swap in a 5 speed if you're going to drop in a B-series, there is far less work involved.
