What do you guys think? (Swap)
I'm looking to get a new engine for my 2000 Honda Civic EX. After looking at tons of sites and engines I've come down to 2 engines:
B18C 94-00 (GSR) Complete Change Over
180Hp 126Trq 10.6 Compression (JDM)
$ 3199.00 Plus shipping and handling.
B16B (EK TypeR) Complete Change Over
185Hp 117 Trq 10.8 Compression(JDM)
$ 3800.00 Plus shipping and handling.
Thing is, I live in a pretty small town so if I buy an engine online it would have to come with everything needed for the whole swap and i also need it pretty soon (my car currently has NO engine and i need to get to work!) Thats means once the engine arrives here i will be able to put it on without ordering any more parts. The site i'm looking at (http://www.hmotorsonline.com) claims to have "complete change over" packages so I'm guessing I wont need anything extra. Also, I have after market headers,CAI, and exhaust. Will they be compatible with the new engine? I've herd people say that the TypeR is probably the most powerful 1.6L engine in the world and that its a very rare engine that will get you some respect from others (which i dont really care about) but is it worth the $600 more for a 5HP increase and less tq?
If anyone thinks these engines are overpriced or maybe I should consider a whole different engine, feel free to speak your mind. That IS why I came here
Thnx in advance

IMO the prices for the b18c and the b16b are pretty good, that is if everything from ecu to axles and shiftlinkage is included. I agree that your situation in a small town prevents you from accessing oem parts for the swap. i got my B series from Password jdm (www.passwordjdm.com) and everything was included for the swap and they took good care of me.
in terms of your engine choice, both are awesome. the b16b revs to hell and is a pretty rare motor. the b18 just puts out the needed torque. I would go for the b18c imo.
good luck on your decision....

Just for the hell of it, here is whats comes with the B18c:
- Motor
- Hydrolic Tranny (S21, Y21)
- ECU (P30)
- Axles with Half Shaft
- Shift Linkage
- Stock Motor Mounts
- Alternator
- Starter
- Clutch
- Flywheel
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- Engine Harness
- Comes With All Sensors Needed
- LSD Tranny (Optional +$300)
Motors average 35,000 miles and come with a 100% start up warranty. All Sensors are guaranteed not broken and in working condition!
Just Wondering, what's "LSD Tranny"? Oh and what exactly is torque good for? Acceleration?
