What do you guys think of my brake setup? (OE stuff)
I drive a 96 Civic EX and all four corners are worn, trailing arm bushing is finished, ebrake cable is seized. I picked up SiR full suspension/brakes for $300. Am paying $200 for labour since I heard its not that easy especially since its winter time.
Front: Brembo Blanks w/ Hawk HPS (Damn they rape us for Brembo in Canada... paid 110 for the rotors and 65 for the pads).
Rear: Si trailing arms w/ Brembo Blanks w/ PBR Semi-Metallic [aka Metal Masters] (The store couldn't get the HPS pads in stock by this weekend which is the appointment I have with my mechanic).
What do you guys think of the Hawk HPS front and PBR MM rear? Bad mix or what? I really wanted a matching set but I am an impatient expletive. Should I try to go for PBR Ultimates, Hawk HPS rears, or just keep them since the rears are hardly used.
P.S. Tokico Blue Shocks are ******* garbage and its true... do it once or spend twice as much to do it right. I am lowered on H&R Sport if that matters. I am so tempted to ditch the rear (still using Honda front shocks because they are holding up) and switch to Koni Reds).
I am going to follow these instructions
Burnishing Instructions
1. After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure.
2. Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.
3. DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!
4. Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.

I agree, get a 15/16" mc off of a 1989 ex wagon. Autozone sells them.

only 1" master is the integra type-r
15/16" from the 1988 civic SEDAN EX not wagon.......and that only works on NON ABS honda civics
you can go integra but you need the booster too
