Well, aside form telling you to search "b16a" for this...

If it was good enough for Honda to put in the SiR/VTi EK, then it's probably good enough for you.

With good driving, you'll have no problem running 14.9 in the 1/4 with I/H/E. The car will have great balance for auto-x/roadrace and will be a great overall driving experience.

That said, I'll let everyone else tell you to go B18C1

You can get an h22 for roughly 2200.

NO YOU CAN NOT PUT A H22 into an EK FOR 2200 bucks.....

YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!

so i can get b16's for 1050 with tranny.....but it is gonna cost you bout 1500 more to get it in the car.....

don't be stuppid and say you can get it for 2200 when it will actually cost bout 3800 to get the engine in the CAR!!!

After new axles, a $500 mount kit, and all the extra blah blah blah, H22 is not the cheap option for an EK. Killer swap, just not as cheap as a direct bolt-in B16A.

Why, oh why do these always turn into a 'my swap is better than yours' debate?!

Or ya shoulda slapped on a snail, reved up to 10g, and blew all those b18s away. But dont worry, I'll start up where you left off.

Good starting point. I cant tell you how it is in n/a form because i've never driven mine without a turbo........If your slapping a hair dryer on then i'd say ............but from what i hear they kinda lack in the low-end power dept

i think that you should do what you want. even if that is a b16a in an ek. all that matters is that you like it.

The b16 is a GREAT starting ENGINE compared to the SOHC engines.....no there is not alot of tq but you can still learn to drive the car with the new setup then step up to something else!!!

if not for starting with a ZC i would have never started anywhere so why not start somewhere....b16 is a budget engine and well worth the moneh!!!!!

yes the b18c1 and c5 are better engines but a better driver with a b16 is gonna roll those other drivers...cause i did....i even rolled people when i had just my b20 NON VTEC in the car....i have video of me hitting the hazzards on type r's when i had just the b20 in the car.....that's 55 hp less than a type r....soooo booo yaaaa

This is the funniest reply I've ever read in my honda-tech life. You be sure to let me know when you find cams that will make power at 10,000 rpms with a turbo on a b16. Then we'll talk. HAHAHA

Or ya shoulda slapped on a snail, reved up to 10g, and blew all those b18s away. But dont worry, I'll start up where you left off.
