yea i have a 2 ton hydraulic creeping jack and when i jack it up using the central jacking point in front, it doesnt lift the car high enough to slide axle stands under the jack points behind the front wheel wells. so i decided to buy the ramps and well, to no avail.

I use 2 square pieces of wood the size of a laptop each about an inch in thickness. Drive up onto them and my jack clears the side tabs easily.

nono, i can fit my jack under the side tabs, thats not the problem. i need to jack up my whole front end, most of the time, so i put my jack under the central jacking point in front, jack it up and my jack, at its maximum height doesnt lift the car up high enough to fit a jackstand under the side tabs.

jack your car up by the front... put your damn jack stands on both side jack points. then get two phone books and put them on your jack and then jack the car up.. done.l
nothing to buy, because most of us have atleast 3-4 phone books and 3 we dont use anyway..
plus the phone books wont crack, wood will over time.

Buy a jack, that is what intelligent folk do. Jack and jack stands, they work great, probably why there is one in the trunk and also the reason you don't see ramps at a dealership.

Re: (Deemeetree)
Fits without jacking up the car and my car is pretty damn low plus its lighter than most big jacks, now buy it and go jack off

I hate those ramps, becuase you have to alway's use wood to slowly build a proper incline or your just asking for it. My car is just to low and the lip doesn't help. A low profile jack works just fine and in the end is faster the the wood/ramp way.

you dont have to put the jackstands on the jack points.. you can put them pretty much anywhere solid on the car... IE suspension mounting points.. where the lower control arm connects to the body of the car.... ive put them on the frame rails... ive even put a few on the lower control arms themselves if you have stif enough suspension.... you dont have to put themo n the factory jack points... anywhere solid will do..... search around...

Re: (civic_speed99)
I picked up a bunch of different pieces of wood that are all the same thickness (approx. 1 1/4 - 1 1/2"). I also have 2 pieces that are about 6 feet long that will be the base or ramp.... Not sure if I am going to make the ramp step up every 8 inches or so OR just use the 6 foot piece and mount the smaller pieces underneath to have a nice incline....
I'll post pics of what I am working with tomorrow.
PS <> All this stuff is free because I am in a new subdivision and just using left over pieces that are laying around
On another note I also own the yellow ramps.... They suck when it comes to lowered cars It's a close call with a stock civic or accord
