whos running a B16B in their EK besides CTR owner's
ok so im pretty much starving for more horse power now. I have a 97 blk EK which i plan to track race after i go DOHC!!!!here is a list of most mods....
carbon fiber hood n wing, sir front lip, gun metal SSR type x's, tokicos with 2 1/4 neuspeed springs, spoon n1 axle back, mugen n1 steering wheel , mugen pedals, mugen shift ****, cusco tower bars front and rear lower tie bar, ETC
so after all this im satisfied with the handling skills of my EK..and im debating on what engine i should go with. my buddy just charged 6,100 $ on his credit card for a 98 ITR complete swap installed in his EK at pitcrew in san gabriel ,CA which i say is a dumb move because this is his first credit card and the intrest rate is probably around 23-24% . so hes pretty much going to pay around 10,000 11,000 when hes done paying OFF his ITR swap.. ok so im playing with around 5 g's to play around with and im pretty much set on purchasing a CTR b16b complete swap and plan on installing my self with some help. how many of u are currently running a b16b??? how much did u spend?? thanx pics welcomed

I think you should get an ITR motor. The price between B18C and B16B isn't too big of a difference is it? You know what they say. There's no replacement for displacement.

if your gonna spend that kind of cash you might as well get the itr motor......not saying you cant do the same with the b16b...i think it will start you off on a slightly better platform...1.8 for instance

Yeah, I'm gonna go with these guys and say that you should either go GSR or ITR. With around $5k to spend, you could have a nicely semi-built GSR that would pack a mean punch!
P.S. Your car sounds good looking. I would love to see what gun metal Type X's look like!! Post up some pics!!!

i would go b16b in an ek too. mill the head a litle for higher compression and get a 4.929 final drive and you will rip through the gears. with bigger cams that motor will be loads of fun. i say go for it

ohhhhh so increasing the compression within the head without any block work, using heavy race cams are good for a car??? Id love to see that detonation. Oh hey let me know when your piston goes flying through your hood get some video while your at it too. .... Do a little more research dude before you start making an *** out of yourself.... just trying to help you out.

Really?
That's funny because I know shitloads of guys running stock D16A6 bottom ends with well over 12:1 CR with the block and head milled with stock P29 1989 Integra pistons.
They seem to be holding up well even after years of getting the **** beat out of them by their owners for everyday driving and auto-X work.
Milling the head mildly on a B16B would't really raise the CR up to any crazy levels because although their piston domes are huge, the stroke is less than the B18 blocks. Stock CR on a B16B is only 10.8:1.
There's plenty of guys running CTR pistons in B18 blocks with over 11.5:1 CR with no block work and big cams like Toda B, JUN II, etc.
I think your comments quoted above are unfounded.
BTW:
I doubt the piston would go flying through the hood. If someone goes crazy with cams, milling, and big pistons then they might have valve-to-piton contact, but I doubt that the pistons would actually fly through the hood.
I know you were being sarcastic, but damn bro at least know what you're talking about before you go around belittling others.
