Aight, seriously.
It sounds a bit like a ridiculously loose valve tick..but something that bad would have already bent out of the way.
I'm not sure where it is - where is it coming from? Please don't answer with "I don't know" - yeah you, put your ear next to it, find out where it's coming from.
Any recent work done to it? Sounds like my probe did when I blew the throttle body gasket

To me that sounds like hellacious rod knock. Doesn't sound like more than one though. But I wouldn't doubt if the motor drops very soon...like days if he's driving it everyday. Good luck!
